Public procurement is a useful tool for maximizing the public interest while strengthening
the private sector of the economy. However, as a point of contact between the public and
the private sector, related to the management of money flowing from the first to the latter,
is considered to be a field of hatching corruption.
The new institutional framework, implemented through law 4412/2016 in the national
legal order by incorporating the European directive 24/2014/EU, is among other things
an attempt to ensure and promote transparency in the field of public procurement.
The present analysis through the method of bibliographic review attempts to isolate and
highlight the actions contained in the new institutional framework that are directly or
indirectly related to the advancement of transparency in public procurement.
