Public procurement is a useful tool for maximizing the public interest while strengthening 
the private sector of the economy. However, as a point of contact between the public and 
the private sector, related to the management of money flowing from the first to the latter, 
is considered to be a field of hatching corruption.
The new institutional framework, implemented through law 4412/2016 in the national 
legal order by incorporating the European directive 24/2014/EU, is among other things 
an attempt to ensure and promote transparency in the field of public procurement.
The present analysis through the method of bibliographic review attempts to isolate and 
highlight the actions contained in the new institutional framework that are directly or 
indirectly related to the advancement of transparency in public procurement.
