The current study aims initially to provide one of the first literature reviews in the Greek language regarding the management of the business process reengineering as a project within the global Public Administrations. Additionally, the study intends to confirm the alternative hypothesis that the initial implementation of the EU's PM2 project management methodology is feasible within the Greek administrative apparatus. The final target is to deliver sustainable and cross-cutting hands-on instructions regarding the implementation of the above methodologies within the framework of a Europeanized Greek Public Administration. To elaborate on a valid proposal, additionally to the data review, qualitative research was conducted, consisting of semi-structured interviews and a Focus Group. The findings were amalgamated into a real-world Case Study of an ongoing process reengineering, in particular the High Schools’ distinguished athletes' University accession process. The case study included BPMN-modeling and the respective simulations. The literature review will likely provide robust data towards the worldwide management of the process reengineering as a project, except the Greek civil service, due to the lacking culture in this field. The qualitative research will possibly clarify the current approach' drawbacks, to integrate into the case study. The alternative hypothesis regarding the feasibility of the initial implementation of PM2 during the reengineering of a real-world Greek Public Administration process should confirm the assumption. Furthermore, the simulations will eventually identify the current process’ bottlenecks, confirming thereby the decision to use an “end-to-end” e-platform. Overall, it is most likely to pinpoint some of the critical success factors of the projects of process reengineering, as well as to elaborate viable and cross-cutting hands on instructions on the issue.
