Επιτομή
The objective of this work is the presentation of the Organizational Restructuring of the Hospitals of the National Health System in the period 2010 - 2020. This period was an extremely difficult period for Greece as far as the reforms required in terms of fiscal adjustment were concerned. It was obvious and logical that Health and especially the sensitive sector of hospitals would be a target of change in order to achieve economies of scale and reduce their operating costs. At the same time, the changes were aimed at substantial modifications of the health system in order to improve the provision of health services to citizens. This assignment begins with a brief historical background in the field of health and presents the most important laws for the period before 2010. It then presents the key changes, reforms and organizational changes that took place in the field of health in the period 2010-2020. The relevant legislation is presented in detail and sets out substantive issues concerning the organizational restructuring of the NHS hospitals of the specific period. This analysis is a trigger for the next part of the assignment regarding the prospects of organizational reconstruction of the NHS hospitals for the coming years after 2020. The assignment concludes with its target which is the presentation of statistics on the results of these changes in the field of hospitals and the drawing of conclusions regarding the achievement of the objectives of administrative reforms and legislative changes. The methodology followed for the assignment was the review of relevant literature and articles as well as the collection of statistical data from the databases of the National Statistical Service. Studies related to the issue of hospital reconstruction were also reviewed. This work we hope that will contribute scientifically and practically to the question of how the organizational restructuring of hospitals can contribute both to the improvement of the provision of health services to the citizens and to the more rational utilization of the relevant resources of the hospitals.
