| dc.description | Η παρούσα μελέτη πραγματεύεται τα μέσα και τον τρόπο άσκησης πολιτιστικής πολιτικής των ΗΠΑ στην Ελλάδα διαχρονικά με έμφαση στον τομέα της πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς. Επισημαίνεται ο ρόλος της Πολιτιστικής διπλωματίας στη χάραξη της Εξωτερικής πολιτικής ενός κράτους, ειδικότερα η Πολιτιστική διπλωματία των ΗΠΑ κατά τον Ψυχρό πόλεμο και η διαμόρφωση της πολιτιστικής τους παρουσίας στο εξωτερικό την πρόσφατη χρονική περίοδο. Διερευνάται η ίδρυση και χρηματοδότηση φορέων και προσώπων και η υλοποίηση προγραμμάτων στον μορφωτικό και πολιτιστικό τομέα στην Ελλάδα, με επίκεντρο την Αμερικάνικη Σχολή Κλασικών Σπουδών στην Αθήνα και την ανασκαφική της δραστηριότητα στην Αρχαία Αγορά. Αναλύεται το περιεχόμενο και τα αποτελέσματα του Μνημονίου Συνεργασίας (2011) για την ελληνική πολιτιστική κληρονομιά μεταξύ Ελλάδας και ΗΠΑ καθώς και η πορεία ανανέωσής του τα επόμενα χρόνια (2016 και 2021). Παρουσιάζονται εκτενώς οι τρεις μεγάλες περιοδικές εκθέσεις που διοργανώθηκαν στις ΗΠΑ (2013-2017) από το Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού με έργα πολιτιστικής κληρονομιάς από τα ελληνικά Μουσεία. Η ανάλυση αξιοποιεί πρωτογενείς πηγές, βιβλιογραφία, διαδικτυακούς τόπους, κείμενα του Τύπου, συζητήσεις με αρμόδιους. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The present work deals with the means and the way of exercising US cultural policy in Greece over time with emphasis on cultural heritage. It presents the role of Cultural Diplomacy in shaping a state's Foreign Policy, in particular US Cultural Diplomacy during the Cold War and the shaping of their cultural presence abroad in recent times. We examine the establishment and financing of institutions and individuals and the implementation of programs in the educational and cultural sector in Greece focusing on the American School of Classical Studies in Athens and its excavation activity in the Ancient Agora. We analyze the content and the results of the Memorandum of Understanding (2011) for the Greek cultural heritage between Greece and the USA as well as the course of its renewal in the coming years (2016 and 2021). Our study illustrates the three major Periodic Exhibitions organized in the USA (2013-2017) by the Ministry of Culture with works of cultural heritage from the Greek Museums. The research resources come from primary sources, bibliography, websites, press texts, discussions with specialists. | en_US |
